An extract from Hans Neumeyer’s duo

This is the slow movement from Hans Neumeyer’s unpublished duo for violin and viola, showing his neoclassical side (with not a little of J S Bach about it). Played by Chris Brierley (violin and viola, one track recorded on top of another).

The slideshow is of the life of my mother Ruth Neumeyer (Ruth Locke) life, with the first two minutes showing scenes from her childhood in Dachau – the music repeats several times.

  1. Watching the slide-show, embedded in the Hans Neumeyer´s Duo, we are very touched while following Ruth Locke´s course of life from her childhood in Dachau to her grown-up life in London and we learned about what she loved: travelling, botanizing, gardening, painting, family life and keeping company with friends; and we with pleasure remember Ruths walk together with us through the Oxford botanic gardens. Ruth would surely had been delighted to see herself remembered this way by her sons. Thank you, Tim Locke.
